Sent Ministers
MMI is a mission organization committed to preparing for the Lord’s return from the farthest frontiers of missions—those places where the Gospel is most urgently needed. For the Great Commission of Jesus to be fulfilled, the Gospel must reach every nation, tribe, people, and language, and churches must be established among them. Yet, there are still peoples and ethnic groups that have not received the Gospel. Notably, at the time of the Second Lausanne Congress, objective data on the global state of missions became available, highlighting specific areas where the Gospel was most urgently needed. Based on data published by various mission research centers, we can summarize the areas and peoples in greatest need of the Gospel as follows:

From Joshua Project Statistics:
Unreached People Groups (UPG): Out of approximately 17,000 people groups worldwide, about 7,400 are unreached. These unreached peoples have an evangelical presence of less than 2%, meaning there is little chance for the Gospel to spread or churches to be planted internally without external help.
Most Unreached People Groups (MUPG): Among unreached peoples, those with less than 0.1% evangelical presence are categorized as Most Unreached People Groups. Currently, there are about 5,000 MUPGs across 130 nations, totaling some 1.9 billion people. The Joshua Project refers to these groups as “Frontier Peoples.”
Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPG): These are the groups with 0% evangelical presence—no believers, no workers or missionaries, no churches, and no form of Scripture translated into their language. There are currently around 100 such groups worldwide. The International Mission Board (IMB) also provides data. According to the IMB’s criteria, there remain about 3,000 UUPGs worldwide, encompassing roughly 270 million people. The difference in numbers comes from varying definitions of “nation” and “evangelization.”

In light of these global evangelization statistics, a major topic within the missions community has been the urgent need to redeploy missionaries to unreached, most unreached, and unengaged groups where the Gospel is most needed. MMI is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by specifically sending workers to unreached, most unreached, and unengaged peoples.

In particular, we focus on sending workers to the 10/40 Window where the Gospel is greatly needed—Central Asia, the Caspian region, Persia, the Middle East, the Arab world, North Africa, North India/Pakistan, and Southeast Asia. We also deploy workers to frontier regions that share historical and linguistic similarities with the Korean people, such as the Altai and Turkic peoples (spanning from Siberia to Türkiye), as well as to places like the Middle East and North Africa, where mission work has become more difficult for Western churches following the 9/11 attacks.
On these frontline mission fields, we form teams and develop creative methods tailored to the local context. We continuously engage in Scripture-centered discussion, seeking ministry approaches that are appropriate for the context. Additionally, we honor the unique characteristics and gifts of churches from various ethnic backgrounds as we join together in obedience to the Great Commission, keeping our gaze fixed on the glory of the Lord alone.
