MMI Global Bridge Institute
The MMI Institute was established to respond to the rapidly changing world of global missions. Since the September 11 attacks in 2001, conflicts among different civilizations—especially including Islam—have intensified, and the frontier mission fields have become increasingly dynamic. Amid such turmoil, the yearning for truth among local peoples on the mission field is growing stronger, demanding new mission approaches that align with the swiftly changing circumstances.
Today, due to the increasing mobility of populations—through immigration, refugees, study abroad, and travel—frontier mission fields no longer operate within stable frameworks. In addition, a new generation raised in the age of media and social networks seeks change and creates a highly dynamic environment.
In response to these evolving mission contexts, the MMI Institute was launched. It provides a platform where field workers and experts from various disciplines can gather and discuss real issues and concerns faced on the ground. Through seminars and symposiums, the MMI Institute fosters professional development for field workers and encourages cooperation across different regions, generating synergistic mission strategies.
The goal of the MMI Institute is to strengthen understanding and expertise in field ministry, thereby exerting a positive influence on all local churches. It helps local churches and mission organizations bring together their unique gifts and strengths to achieve beautiful collaborative ministry.
Recognizing these timely needs, the MMI Institute focuses on bringing together field workers and experts from various fields to share insights and analyses of the frontier mission fields. The resulting articles and materials will be published under the name “Voice of Pioneers,” making them accessible to a broader audience.
The MMI Institute hopes that, through collective reflection on real field needs, field workers will grow and eventually develop more contextually appropriate, biblically grounded mission strategies.
