Missionary Sending Training

Isaiah 61:1-6

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

2 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;

3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

4 They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.

5 Strangers shall stand and tend your flocks; foreigners shall be your plowmen and vinedressers;

6 but you shall be called the priests of the Lord; they shall speak of you as the ministers of our God;y ou shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory you shall boast.

What is LS (Leadership School)?

In every respect, Jesus is the most exemplary role model of a missionary. As He began His public ministry—His missionary work—Jesus proclaimed Isaiah 61:1–6 in the synagogue (Luke 4:18–19). In embarking upon His ministry as a missionary, He was anointed by the Holy Spirit. He preached the gospel to the poor and healed the brokenhearted. His ministry was a holistic one, founded on spiritual leadership and dedicated to meeting people’s needs.

Throughout the history of missions, without exception, outstanding missionaries have possessed both spiritual leadership (ministerial expertise) and technical leadership (professional expertise), just as Jesus did. Accordingly, MMI has established the LS program, aiming for every missionary candidate to grow into a well-rounded minister who embodies both the spiritual leadership and technical leadership exemplified by Jesus.

Eligibility Requirements

The Leadership School is the final stage of domestic training for developing MMI’s long-term missionaries. To participate in this training, one must first graduate from the Dream Together School and then serve at the MMI headquarters as a full-time staff member for at least one year before applying.

LS Training Process

This is an eight-week program conducted from Monday through Friday.

Out of the five weekdays, three days are dedicated to LS training, and the remaining two are allocated to departmental ministry.

The training focuses on preparing MMI missionaries who possess spiritual depth, integrity, and intellectual capacity, who can serve as part of a team in the mission field, who minister through the power of the Holy Spirit, and who stand firm on the foundation of Scripture. In other words, it seeks to develop sound and healthy missionaries thoroughly equipped for the field.
